Job description: Responsible for calibration, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of electronic Test Measurement and Diagnostics Equipment which includes: oscilloscopes, multi-meters, current probes, power supplies, power monitoring, power meters, frequency counters, temperature and electrostatic devices, RF electronics, and physical/dimensional equipment which includes chambers, ovens, thermometers, weight sets, scales, load cells, pressure/tension gauges, fiber optic equipment.
Individual must be an enthusiastic self-starter who can work independently and adheres to a philosophy of continuous improvement.
Job Qualifications summary: Experience in repair and calibration of general purpose test equipment to include electronic and physical/dimensional equipment. Must possess a background in electronics and have the ability to perform trouble shooting down to circuit card and component level. Also must be able to read and understand schematic drawings.

PMEL Technician Opening
The CFP Group has an immediate contractor position available to work in the ATF Fire Research Lab located at BELTSVILLE, MD just outside Washington DC. If you want to take your PMEL skills to the next level in an interesting, exciting, & rewarding career this is the job for you.
Required Education: Candidate should have graduated from a Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory school. Additional degrees in the sciences is a plus but not mandatory.
Required Experience: Candidate should have 5 years of PMEL experience. Candidate should have experience in Data Acquisition, general test equipment, temperature, pressure, velocity, & mass measurements. Candidate should also have experience with automated calibration software specifically Fluke MetCal & Labview. Knowledge of ISO requirements, NIST traceability, & equipment tracking and documentation is also essential.
Additional skills in visual basic, communication between test equipment and pc, fire measurement are also a big plus.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The QA Specialist performs reviews and audits in the
AFPSL to comply with the quality program, USAF T.O.
00-20-14, ISO17025, and contract requirements.
The QA Specialist will perform internal audits and
document the results. Prepares laboratory for
inspection. Controls certification stamps.
Provides technical assistance, represents management
on quality issues; identifies opportunities for
process improvements and accident prevention.
Manages technical manual improvement reports, cal
determination reports, and product quality
deficiency reports. Monitors Customer Feedback
program and ensures corrective actions are taken.
Sets up and operates test and measurement
equipment as required to perform product audits.
Analyzes data from certain tests or quality
assurance records and makes recommendations to
management accordingly.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
1. Associate Degree in an engineering
discipline or related equivalent experience.
2. Four or more years experience in a DOD (USAF
preferred) or commercial calibration laboratory.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
1. Knowledge of PMEL operation, TMDE
calibration, Air Force Metrology and Calibration
Program requirements, test accuracy
ratios/uncertainty, equipment substitution, and
quality experience is required.
2. Formal metrology training in metrology
disciplines.
3. Experience with auditing under ISO9002, ISO/IEC
17025, and T.O. 00-20-14 is a plus.
4. Knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office
Programs: to perform tabulation, trend analysis and
graph/chart design.
5. Requires excellent communication and
interpersonal skills

Desired skills
Familiarity with ISO 17025 guidelines and NASA ISO 9001 procedures listed in DOC-O-009, DRYDEN ORGANIZATIONAL CHAPTER FOR FLIGHT OPERATIONS DIRECTORATE.

We are seeking a qualified calibration and repair technician. Job duties are to perform onsite and in-house calibration and repair on all types of electronic test equipment.
